REG-SA SS and REG-SB SS are angle-way and straight-way hand-operated regulating valves with accurate linear flow characteristics, acting as normal stop valves in closed position. Designed for harsh operating surroundings — outdoor and coastal installations and food plants with daily detergent treatment.

Internal backseating allows the spindle seal to be replaced while the valve is still under pressure.

REG-SA / REG-SB 65 — 65 bar series

For higher-pressure duty, the REG-SA / REG-SB 65 series (65 bar MWP) covers liquid-line and expansion-line regulation in low-temperature steel bodies: pressure-equalized bonnet, backseating for spindle-seal replacement under pressure, and the modular SVL Flexline concept — convert to a stop valve, stop-check, check or strainer by replacing the complete top part, no welding. Sizes DN 6 – DN 200. DNV / CRN / BV / EAC approved.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Danfoss REG valve used for?

The REG is a manual regulating valve for throttling and flow regulation in industrial refrigeration pipelines — for example adjusting liquid feed or balancing flow between parallel evaporators.

What pressure is the REG rated for?

The REG range has a maximum working pressure of 52 bar (754 psig). We also supply 65 bar and 120 bar versions — contact us if you need them.

Which refrigerants is the REG suitable for?

The REG is applicable to HCFC, HFC, R717 (ammonia), R744 (CO2), propane, butane, isobutane and ethane. R717 heat pump and propylene applications require a changed O-ring — contact us when ordering for these duties.

What is the operating temperature range?

The medium temperature range is -60 °C to +150 °C.

How is the REG operated?

It is a manual valve operated by handwheel, with a position indicator so the opening degree can be read and reproduced.

Is there a version for insulated pipelines?

Yes — a long-neck (extended bonnet) version is available for DN 15 to DN 40 for use in insulated systems.

Can the REG be used as a shut-off valve?

No. The REG is designed for regulating duty; for positive shut-off use an SVA shut-off valve. Note: the REG can also provide a shut-off function, but for dedicated shut-off duty we recommend the SVA.

Is this a genuine Danfoss product? How long is delivery?
